Encumbrance
From Peragro Tempus Wiki
A character has several levels of Encumbrance, each of which impact the character's movement and stamina. The current encumbrance of a character is determined by taking the total weight in all slots of their inventory and comparing it to the general rules.

general rules
Option 1
A range for each of the character's load categories are determined from the character's strength and endurance. The character either adds or multiplies the values (whichever is better). The maximum Each category is determined by what multiple of that number the character's weight falls under.
| encumbrance rating | Multiplier value | effects |
| Unencumbered | 1 | -- |
| Light load | 2 | A character bearing this much weight can not Sprint. |
| Medium load | 4 | A character carrying this much weight can not run This character also has their base movement (and thus all movement rates) halved. |
| Heavy load | 6 | A character bearing this much weight has the stamina use for each movement rate increased by 1 category. Thus, hustling drains stamina at 1 point per minute, walking drains stamina at 1 point per 10 minutes, and even a standing rest restores stamina at only half normal speed. |
| Max carry | 10 | A character carrying this much weight can not Hustle. A character staggering under such a load has their base movement halved again (one fourth normal). Stamina is lost at a rate of 1 point per 10 minutes for standing under this load, while walking drains a point of stamina per minute. |
| Max lift | + | A character bearing this much weight can not even Walk. Simply standing with this load drains a point of stamina per second. |
swimming
If a character is swimming, they are subject to both the normal skill checks for that activity as well as the penalties for encumbrance. Important notes;
- Reductions to speed change base speed, and thus the max potential swimming speed on a successful skill check.
- A character at Heavy Load drains stamina at a rate of 1 point per minute if walking, and 1 point per 10 minutes is lost if "standing."
- A character at Max Carry drains stamina at a rate of 1 point per minute if "standing," and 1 point per second while walking.
- A character at Max Lift automatically fails all swim checks.
Option 2
A character's Encumbrance is determined by dividing the total weight currently in all slots of their inventory by the higher of their (Strength * Endurance) or (Strength + Endurance). This number is then multiplied by all Stamina costs, and divides both their base movement and any standing or walking Stamina regeneration.
Pushing/dragging
Pushing or dragging alters the effective weight of the items carried.
