Overview
Humans are the dominant race in Phoria, and the only one known to be sentient.
During this period of history, much of the world is claimed and controlled by the three great kingdoms. Each rose in waves, first the Oro, then the people of Kvalis, and finally the Vaalorians. Each destroying or absorbing the less advanced tribes about them in their struggle for dominance.
Characteristics
Humans range in height from one and a half meters to nearly two meters and weighing 8 to 10 stones on average for women and 9 to 13 stones for men.
Vaalorians
The Vaalorians have a medium complexion with light to dark brown hair and normally have brown eyes. They tend to be the tallest people of Phoria, hardy in stature, they are very adaptable and can live almost anywhere. While not as adept fighters as the Kvalis or Oro, they are usually better educated and employ better technology. Vaalorian armies tend to utilize a basic form as they are most proficient with one handed swords and bows. Their strength lies in utilizing formations well and utilizing their superior engineering to create exceptionally destructive siege weaponry. Unfortunately their region is not rich in materials needed to craft weaponry and armor and as such they tend to be equiped with leather and other natural materials. Most of their metallic gear is forged from imported materials, and very few infantry men are even lucky enough to have a full set of chain mail.
Kvali
The Kvali have a complexion slightly darker than the Vaalorians with black hair and dark brown to black eyes. They are of medium height and have slender bodies poorly suited for cold. They focus more on aggressive warfare composed mostly of infantry and are very proficient with bladed weapons of all types.
Oro
The Oro have a fair complexion with light brown to blonde hair and blue eyes. They are the shortest people of Phoria with males averaging just over a meter and a half in height. Their stout build is particularly well suited to the colder climates of the extreme north. Like the Kvalis they are excellent fighters. Unlike the other main kingdoms, the Oro enjoy a variety of weapon proficiencies including one and two handed weapons especially blunt weapons and axes, though archery is virtually unknown.
