From the "bipedal humanoid" description, these are a sort of giant, with a protruding mouth.

So I do not feel Mammoth is really an appropriate name.

Given that they have lidless yellow unblinking eyes, and rust-rough skins covered in slime, I propose to rename them the Pantagrue, as both singular and plural.

Roots to the name being the Rabelais giant, Pantagruel, and grue, as in gruesome.

I dont agree with Verrliit often enough, however I think if nothing else we should change the name of the infamous mammoths. I have no ideas currently but I would like to brainstorm and actually rethink the role these monsters play in the world.
